His Competent Woman by Ellen Whyte – Book Review

I’m always in a lookout for a quick and easy read and when this book came my way I was really excited. It is a light hearted read and really sweet. It is one of those books that will bring a smile on your face.

Blurb –

In desperate need for money, Emma applies for a job with handsome billionaire Curtis West. She’s not really qualified for the job and to make matters worse, she loses her temper during the interview and fudges her credentials. Can she pull it off or will this end in tears?

My review –

This book is about Emma who is a single mother. She is funny and yet really strong. She is a mother to a son who is diagnosed with Dyslexia. She works really hard to give the best to her son Ben. In the quest to get a better job, she interviews for Curtis who is the CEO of Weston Enterprises. She gets the job even though she did not have the experience and the skill to do this job.

Her first impression of her boss was not at all good. She slowly starts to understand that Curtis as a person is not as he appears to the world.

The story is very well written, nowhere did I feel that I was losing interest. It just flows and it’s not confusing, which some of the love stories can be.

The characters are beautifully drafted and have a significant role in the story. They are really placed well and you find yourself turning pages.

There is a lot of English humor and phrases which totally made this book a pleasure read. I loved that this book did not have loads of mushy love scenes. It was more real and practical.

It’s a great book if you want a quick and easy read. I will totally recommend this to all!

Overall, this book is sweet, funny and romantic. It is written perfectly and I totally loved it. I will give it a 4.5/5. I’ll wait for the next one from Ellen!

I received this book from the author for an honest feedback.
