The L’Oreal compact comes packed in a very attractive purple-pink, glossy box and the powder itself is held in a plastic case that has two compartments; one side has the powder and the other side has a mirror and a sponge. Overall, it does look very elegant and very travel friendly. Just one thing that I did not like was that the mirror and the product are on 2 different sides, which makes it difficult to use, especially on the go..
The fragrance is like the old 80s makeup, slightly like a talc.
The powder does work really well, not only does it add instant radiance, it has a sheer coverage. You can build the coverage to medium. I have tried it with a liquid/cream and also creams (serum/moisturizer/sunscreen) and it works well with all the bases. It is extremely light-weight, breathable, and does impart a shine free, matte radiant finish.
The staying power on my oily combination skin (very oily T zone) is impressive. It lasts a good 2-3 hrs and then I have to reapply. I think it also depends on the climate, currently it’s a little humid and so maybe it doesn’t last too well. However, I still do not think on 12 hr. stay power claim.
Overall it’s a good budget compact. A few more shades, especially a few more darker and pink toned shades will be a good addition.
I would rate it a 4/5
