Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Two Way Cake : Review

I love powders with sunscreen, you don’t have to worry about the sun damage. Reapply the powder before you head out and it helps, which I know is not the correct way to reapply sunscreen. Dermatologists say that sun screen should be reapplied every 3-4 hrs after removing your makeup, which we all know is practically not possible. So every time I see a product that can be used as a touch up and with sun screen I jump to get it.

Maybelline says:

Maybelline New York introduces its thinnest two-way cake foundation with the all new Dream Satin Skin Two Way Cake Powder. Providing a non-cakey effect, ultra-breathable satin perfection and SPF 30+ protection to your skin, this product is set to become a must-have for the Spring Summer season. The unique one-film technology in the powder makes it 5X thinner than conventional powders and extremely fit for a stretchable finish that lasts 12 hours. Discover the illuminating difference with Dream Satin Skin Powder.

Price: INR 575

The compact comes in a sturdy packaging which is peachy colored. It comes with 2 compartments, one side has the actual product and the other has the sponge.

I am in the shade B2 Soft Honey. It’s a shade with yellow undertones. In the pan it looks really dark, but on the skin it blends well.

The texture is great, its creamy and blends well. It works really well for my oily t-zone.

The only problem is that you have to reapply after 2 to 3 hrs and with every reapplication, it stars looking really caky on the skin. It does accentuates the dry patches on my cheeks.

Overall, I’m on the fence with this product, some days I love it but some days I hate it.

I would rate it 3/5

  1. Thanks, your review is quite helpful. I agree with you on loving products with sunscreen in them but will wait it out to buy this one perhaps.

  2. Love this product. Had the same experience but I find that If I use a primer base and then use this, I seem to not need re-application at all and even if I do around the T zone, it doesn’t come out cake-y.
