Karwachauth is a daylong festival which is celebrated by Hindu women, basically from North India for the long and prosperous life of their husband and the well-being of their families. Women wake up before the sunrise and eat Sargi (basically 7 different type of food items) which is given by their mother-in-law. The fast begins at dawn. Fasting women do not eat or drink anything during the day. They dress up like brides and perform prayers and then eat at moon rise after offering prayers to the moon.
I generally like to wear really bright outfit for Karachauth. This time I wore a simple but elegant red and green lengha (Lengha is an outfit which has a long skirt, a top and a stole).
This is a time which calls for a red lip and golden or bronze eyes. I used my favorite red lipstick of all time MAC Russian Red.
For my eyes, I used Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in “Golden Bronze” as the base and used ‘Faint’ from my Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette as a crease color. I used MAC eyeshadow in ‘Sumptuous Olive’ in the center of my eye lid. I used this to match my blouse a little.
Base was fairly simple, I used Loreal Infallible foundation on my face and to set my foundation I used L’Oreal Mat Magique All-in-One Matte Transforming Powder. I used MAC ‘Sculpt’ to lightly contour my face and for the blush I used MAC Alluring Aquatic ‘Sea Me, Hear Me’ blush.
I wore my gold necklace and gold jhumki and Lac bangles which I bought during my Jodhpur visit.
